By Maryland Sports Access Crew

Mount St. Mary’s men’s basketball will play host to American for its home opener tonight at 7 o’clock pm in the Knott Arena. Maryland Sports Access will be providing live game tweets and a full game recap.

With Jamion Christian at the helm for the Mount, they have enjoyed a successful run when hitting the home-hardwood – totaling a 29-9 (.763) record the past three seasons at the Knott Arena.

The Mount are coming off of back-to-back losses to Elon and Furman, despite having second-half comeback bids fall short in the Battle 4 Atlantis. MSM guard, Byron Ashe, scored a career-high 25 points against Elon. On the year, they carry an 0-6 record into Tuesday night’s match-up. Four of those six losses came to Power-5 opponents, no. 2 Maryland, Ohio State, Washington and no. 10 Gonzaga.

One eye-popping statistic is that, they sit 29th in the nation in turnover percentage, forcing a turnover 22.8 percent of its defensive possessions behind guards Ashe and Junior Robinson.

The Mountaineers will host their next two home games against Loyola (Dec. 5) and Bucknell (Dec. 8) before hitting the road against Lehigh (Dec. 19)
