MPSSAA basketball playoff preview

Almost three full months of high school basketball have come and gone, which means the season is nearing end.

Or is it? Over the course of the next couple of days, many teams will begin a new season as the MPSSAA basketball tip-off with sectional quarterfinals on Friday night and sectional semifinals on Monday night.

And as the Maryland Sports Access crew surveys each bracket of competition, it appears abounding. Last year, New Town, Oakland Mills, Centennial and Meade took home coveted state crowns. In just a few weeks, a new set of names will be inked forever in the states history books.

Each team’s band of brothers that started on blacktop streets playing pickup games into the summer nights will have an opportunity to sign off in storybook fashion.

So, without further ado, we bring you everything one may need to know about the MPSSAA boys basketball playoffs.
