Game Day Preview: Baltimore Ravens VS San Diego Chargers

Coming off another devastating loss the Baltimore Ravens look to secure their second victory of the 2015 season. Their opponent, the San Diego Chargers, also have experienced three straight losses this season. Game time is set for 1 pm at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.

Both the Ravens and the Chargers are creating uncharacteristic trends throughout the season this far. The Ravens are 0-2 at home this season, losing to two divisional teams; the Browns and the Bengals. The Chargers on they other hand, are 0-3 on the road. Therefore, this game will prove to be pivotal for one team as they secure a win and as a result separate themselves from their unwanted streak.

Baltimore will run the ball often with fiery running back, Justin Forsett as they look to penetrate the already struggling Charger run defense. Through the first seven games of this season the San Diego Chargers have given up a total of 925 rushing yards. The San Diego defense has also given up the second most rushing yards this season and Justin Forsett and the Baltimore Ravens will be sure to exploit this weakness.

The Ravens secondary will be tested once again this week as the Chargers look to continue with their heavily unbalanced passing offense. Currently the Chargers lead the National Football League in both total offense and passing offense. Phillip Rivers has completed 215 passes this year, 16 more than undefeated quarter back Tom Brady. Rivers will specifically look to target the speedy Keenan Allen and, Danny Woodhead coming out of the backfield.

Offensive Player To Watch

Joe Flacco

The Ravens have kept every game this season close and exciting right up until the very end. Most of Baltimore’s losses this season could have changed dramatically with the conversion of just one more play. Flacco’s knowledge and skill could prove to be the difference in the contest as the games goes down to the stretch.

Defensive Player To Watch

CJ Mosley

San Diego and Phillip Rivers will look to test the Ravens shaky secondary often throught Sunday’s contest. If the Ravens can create pressure on Rivers the Chargers wont be able to pass the ball effectively and their gameplan will fall apart. Look for CJ Mosley to create plays with his speed. Mosley should get plenty of oppurtunities to blitz the Charger offense as Rivers looks to pass often.

Prediction

Ravens 24, Chargers 17
