All eyes will be on the Terps in this tournament as Maryland boasts the No. 1 overall seed and enters play as the hottest team in the country.

Can this be the year the NCAA title drought is finally crushed?

The Terps enter the first round with a 13 game win streak and a Big 10 championship title to boast as well. Maryland (14-2) will host Quinnipiac (12-3) this Sunday, a team coming off of a nine game win streak of their own.

Quick Stats:

  • This Maryland defense has been a stone wall all season long, allowing only two teams to score double digit goals against them. Look for that consistency to flow into tourney play where it matters most.
  • Offensive Arsenal: Maryland has four different players that have scored 20+ goals this season
  • Quinnipiac Goalie Jack Brust has a save percentage of .588, the second highest in the entire NCAA, named MAAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player
  • Quinnipiac Attackman Brian Feldman has eight EMO goals on the season, putting him seventh in the NCAA; Feldman seems to do it all for the Bobcats and serves as the main goal-scorer for the offense
  • This marks Quinnipiac’s first ever NCAA tournament appearance, while for Maryland, it’s their 39th appearance and 14th consecutive

The game will be shown on ESPNU at 12:30 PM where Maryland will play their last game in College Park for the rest of the season, win or lose.

Maryland can’t afford to overlook any team in the tournament if they want to make another deep run.
